Good concept for wireless adapter 01/25/2014
This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation N300 Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter - WI-U2-300D
Pros:
Easy driver installation. Fast connection to numerous wireless AP's. Dual Band accessibility for those of us that have Wireless AC routers and AP's.
Cons:
Dual band does NOT mean that it's faster, as it's still a Wireless N (300) adapter. The clip that comes with it requires you to use a 3M glue strip to mount it (wuh?). It's at least twice as big as the other Wireless N adapters on the market and it's cost is somewhat reflective of that.
Overall Review:
Overall, I haven't had any major issues with this adapter. I had to realize that, even though it's dual-band, it is not an AC adapter. Wireless N is fast for most things you do on the internet, but home network file sharing will still be handicapped by Wireless N (300) and you won't get the desired speeds that you would want to get out of it with the dual-band nomenclature. IT IS ONLY WIRELESS N. That's the skinny. Dual-band is nice, but not at this price for the speed it gives you.
