Warcraft 3 is worth it! 01/26/2014
This review is from: Warcraft III Battlechest
If you follow World of Warcraft, read the books and/or comic books, or love this style of gaming and the nostalgia, this is the game for you.
It brings Arthas' story to life, his journey to becoming disputably, the baddest bad guy in the Warcraft universe, Thrall's journey and the development into the new Horde, the blood elve's involvement with the Horde and how Sylvanas became the Banshee Queen, and Jaina's involvement and the development of today's Alliance.
This game is rich in storylines and has multiple difficulties as well as different modes of playing; you can even customize your own custom map and play as Horde or Alliance, or both.
To this day, I own all three series of this game franchise and they are great fun to play on maintenance day or when my internet is out.
It's not much of a complaint for me because I really don't mind it, but because this is an older game, the graphics are somewhat outdated compared to, for example, the World of Warcraft MMO itself.
Would love to see a remake of this game in the future, but I doubt that will ever happen considering how long it took Blizzard to make Warcraft I-III and what it took to make these games.
If you're looking for another game similar to a game you've previously played before from another franchise, yes, this game is very much like the rest, but the lore, stories, and characters are unique to this franchise. If you have no interest in World of Warcraft lore or characters, this probably isn't the game for you because you'll just end up downing it for being like "every other game", like many others have who have reviewed this game.
If you're not into older graphics and just here for the gameplay, again, this game is probably not for you.
