I needed that... 02/11/2014
Drastically reduced the CPU/Socket temps on my AMD 8350. I bought a MB bundle from another supplier and the no-name CPU fan was woefully underpowered. It would idle around 50c & the first time I tried to compile a kernel I looked down and the temp was 82c, too high for the 8350.
After installation my PC (at stock speeds) now idles around 35c & I haven't seen it break 55c even under full load compiling w/ all 8 cores, transcoding videos, or running Mprime
The 120mm fan spins around 850rpm under normal use and is nice & quiet. Under load it spins up to around 1500rpm, it's louder, but not obnoxious. Even at speed it's considerably quieter than the stock fan on my last PC, AMD x4 630, was at speed.
The only difficult part of the installation was attaching the waterblock/pump to the motherboard. A 3rd hand might've come in handy.
It takes quite a bit of pressure to get the spring loaded screws to catch the threads on/under the motherboard. I was actually concerned w/ cracking the board. Luckily I have an adequate amount of supports under the board. If you skimped on the supports, you might want to add a few before installation...
I'm happy with the results and if they honor the $20 rebate (I have mixed results an actually receiving a rebates), I'll be even happier... ;)
