red "panic mode" light on after 9 months of use. Tech support totally incompetent, but will respond withing 30 minutes to tell you you are out of warranty!! 6 month warranty is too short

I am very sorry to read your refurbished Vertex 2 developed an issue after 9 months of use. What you have been told by our tech support is correct - if we are unable to recover the drive remotely (we often can) the refurbished Vertex 2 does carry a 180 day warranty. If the warranty period has expired we cannot resolve the situation with a warranty replacement. The tech who helped you should have offered technical support, regardless of whether the product is eligible for a RMA. If this did not happen please contact us again.
Having to file a warranty claim is rare. If your next purchase has the requirement of a longer warranty, I recommend purchasing a new Vector 150 (5-year warranty period) or Vertex 460 (3-year warranty period). Full OCZ Storage Solutions Limited Warranty terms can be read using the link below.
