This review is from: Phanteks PH-F140SP_BK_BLED 140mm Blue LED Case Fan
For what these fans do the price tag is so low I'd consider it a waste of money not to buy one of these if you are ever thinking, " I should put a 140 fan here."
Of all the fans on the market this is near the top of the leaderboard of fan air flow that isn't considered loud.
The ratio either way from Cfm/dba or dbA/cfm is so good it's just about the top of either list when looking at those two types of fans high cfm and sorta loud vs super quiet but just on or under par for cfm.
This is hands down my favorite fan anyone has thought about buying. I'm crazy picky when it comes to my fans and chassis air flow.
Doesn't rank in the top 5 fastest fans currently obtainable by normal means.
Doesn't rank in the top 10 quietest fans currently obtainable by normal means.
The cables can be considered too long but is that really such a bad thing?
It's not on the lighter end of fans in terms of weight (but it makes up for it)
While it has the 2nd best noise/vibration mounting of any fan worth mentioning it still transfers a little vibration to your case/enclosure.
If mounted with screws directly to met or a panel of your chassis/case it transfers a surprising amount of vibration considering considering all the ruber used for its mounting/contact points.
It's not the coolest looking fan.
The LEDs could use some more styling to them.
I can only find this fan in the one color with just the one led color option, and I don't like using a single style, color, and led color as my only option when thinking of the best fan for your money in the 140mm category of course.
There is a works if better fans out there but each one of those fans have a specific goal or purpose E.G. Fastest fan that has x y or z as a bonus or option, or best rad fan that can also be Asturias option to use for the rest of your case fan mounts.
Doesn't come in a 140mm size and mounting size with an led and is a pwm fan.
When in use in a case can easy be mistaken for a lot of other fans
at first glance.
I copy and pasted an answer to a question regarding the ability to control the led on these fans but I love them so much I basically wrote a review too.
Yes it comes with an amazingly long cable sorta like the 200mm+ NZXT led fans with the 2 pin extension cables. While both use 2 pin led cables separate from the fans normal 3 or sometimes 4 pin power cables, the phanteks use a clip in adapter that has a push button switch. Sorta like a hybrid of the regar 2 pin led cable and the hard wired led button. You can just leave the clip istyle cable w/o the other part and it will be off by default. If you ever lose the button cable for it you can use the 2 pin style led jumpers but it will break the plastic part that covers the 2 pins.
I can put one of these babies anywhere in my NZXT switch 810 case and using cable routing, not just lead the cable directly to the location, I can have the push toggle led button where ever I find most convenient.
Half of my switches are hiding behind my NZXT hue led single 5.25 drive bay module, the other half are tucked behind a fan at the bottom of the case.
I'd have to say these fans are my all time favorite fans you can find on this planet but sadly they Arent PWM fans and if you use. Controller the led scales with the fans rpm. I'd have to say it's the nicest jack of all trades (fan) but almost master of none.
