Great and very portable/versatile USB drive. 02/21/2014
This review is from: CORSAIR Flash Voyager GO 32GB USB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive Model CMFVG-32GB-NA
-Cap won’t get lost!
-USB 3.0 (backwards compatible to 2.0 too)
-Cap can be swapped out. Black or Orange are the color choices.
-Good transfer speeds.
I love how small it is. I can easily take it with me anywhere and not have it be a hindrance of any kind. When you are around computers as much as me its great to just have a 32GB drive that can just appear out of no where! It is a very basic design, I think it looks very nice, and it feels like it is high quality. I like the black cap, but it is nice that there is the option to switch to something else if I wanted to. Great that I can keep a nice bit of video on here and just plug it straight into Nexus 7 (without any cords or anything like that required) and watch it wherever I want to without taking all the hard drive space on my tablet for videos. The transfer speeds seemed pretty good. Not the fastest in the world, but certainly good. It took about 30 seconds to copy a 4.2 GB file fromt he drive to my PC and about 3 minutes and 32 seconds to copy the same file from my PC to the drive. I was getting 144 MB/s when copying the file from the drive to my PC and 22 MB/s when copying that file from my PC to the drive.
I don’t recommend this… but mine had a small encounter with a washing machine. After 2 days left in front of a fan with a bit of sunlight, it works perfectly! Speeds were unaffected by the traumatizing experience, and it works good as new! On a side note, a tiny USB drive goes very easily unnoticed when left in a pocket.
-Not compatible with all mobile devices.
Not compatible with my Nexus 4 phone. I was very sad about this, but at least it is compatible with my tablet. There is a list of compatible devices on Corsair’s website at http://www.corsair.com/usbgo this is not a full list, as my tablet is not listed, but works perfectly.
I was very sad to see that it isn't compatible with my Nexus 4. I was looking forward to having such easily accessible extra storage for my phone. But at least it works with my Nexus 7. Honestly though, I see this as a great USB 3.0 drive, the added functionality of it working with some tablets/phones without any extra cords is just an added bonus.
The cord that ties the cap to the drive/acts as a keychain is apparently very attractive to my cat. Clearly the solution is to buy one for yourself and one for your cat. You have been warned.
