Good but not Great 02/25/2014

Loads of features Fast Wifi. USB 3.0 support and very fast transfer speeds. Very Good GUI which is easily managed. Netgear maintains plenty of tutorials online for this specific device. Email Support is decent but not quick. Netgear also has a User forum available. VPN FTP and USB 3.0 Storage Capabilities. Free DNS domain name for static IP address.
The Forum is not moderated by Netgear and email support is slow. User community is weak and so too is modded firmware (dd wrt). My major complaint and why I returned it after 30 days use is no android or IOS apps that support the built in VPN or FTP to access via smartphone. It's also lacking for guest account and password support for same.
WIFi range is poor. literally unusable at 40 ft from device with nothing but dry walled wood framed 2x4s walls for obstruction. In comparison my DIR 655 was better but not by much in terms of range. It was mounted in my office on a wall facing the rest of my home. Somehow at this price point I expected better.
I bought this locally at Staples to make return easier if needed and I'm glad I did. VPN and FTP was easy to set up and Netgear gives you free domain DNS for a static IP albeit limited in terms of software and feature set to control it. They make it easy to setup and plenty of documentation for a novice but considering what you would use it for to lack Android and IOS support is a huge oversight. However reaching the VPN, FTP and USB attached storage from a windows laptop was easy enough to do and if that's all you need it for then you will not be disappointed.
