5 out of 5 eggs Buffalo Airstation Wirless USB Adapter stick 03/01/2014

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation N300 Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter - WI-U2-300D

Nice & easy installation on Windows 8 and Windows 7 using included CD's drivers. Great range compared to some other USB Wireless adapters I own. Running at decent speed, hitting 2.4MBs downloads closer to the router, 800KBs downloads on the other side of our house (approx. 50' away from router).
Offers an extension cable and an attachable clip for mounting.

Is expensive: I've purchased USB Wireless adapters capable of same performance for around $20.
Is large: much larger than the other USB Wireless adapters I've had for years.
Has no connectivity lights to show connection strength.
Very short extension cable.
Attachable clip needs to be attached by included glue strip.

Other Thoughts:

If you're using a netbook, laptop, or any portable device these days I would imagine they have built in wireless capabilities so this type of adapter should not be necessary anymore. If you're using a all-in-one desktop or something of the sort that may be relocated this could be useful, though I would recommend an internal wireless card.
I've had trouble sometimes with Windows 8 connecting to my network when using my IdeaPad's built in Wi-Fi but when plugging in this and other USB wireless adapters it connects with no problem. If this device was smaller it would be perfect for that type of situation.
