- SATA III

still slow, returning drive
Dear Kingston. I've verified that in my BIOS that I am running my SATA 3 ports in AHCI mode and I've verified it in Windows as well via the registry @ HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci\start (should read 0, it does). Like I said before, when no data was loaded the drive performs around 300mb\s. When I load data it performs much slower.
I've also stated in my previous review that I was using the AMD 990FX chipset. My motherboard is NewEgg item# N82E16813128514
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support, here to help just as before. I was able to look up your motherboard and it does show to have six SATAIII 6Gbps ports on the AMD 990X chipset AND two Marvell (3rd Party) SATAIII 6Gbps ports. If the V300 was connected to one of the Marvell ports that would most likely be causing the slow down in speeds. We are here to help and can usually get these things figured out in a short phone call. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.
Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
