This review is from: SYBA SY-PCI40010 PCI SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) RAID Controller Card
Using this card in a older P4 Mobo running WHS (the older version, not 2011). I had no PCIe slots, only PCI. Mobo recognized the card right away, WHS not so much.
Requires a BIOS update to either the NON-RAID BIOS, if you do not want to run an array. OR the RAID BIOS to run one of the many RAID version that the card supports.
Go the the Silicon Image website and download the 6.6 bios update. As others have said, flash either the "r" version for RAID or the non-"r" version for no RAID. Reboot and update your drivers according to the setup you intend to run.
I am having issues with the 2TB file limit in WHS, but that is a problem with the OS, not the card.
