Gyro Spinner - Very surprised! Has helped me IMMENSELY 03/24/2014

SO, I decided to get this to increase my forearm strength, dexterity and grip, but also hearing from other people it helps with cramped hands/wrists for people that type a lot or use there hands a lot.
After reading the reviews elsewhere before buying this I was able to figure it out in less than 5 minutes. It SERIOUSLY puts out some power and gives an AMAZING workout on your grip, wrists and forearms. It really is a thing to behold, after using it just the first 3 weeks everyday my forearms are bigger/stronger, my grip is stronger and my hands/wrists no longer cramp!!! I kid you not, it even has made me a better gamer and faster at typing. You will start noticing a difference immediately though!
In the beginning after using it the first time, I didnt stretch my arms at all or anything because I wasnt prepared for what it could do. Afterward my arms were very cramped, so I suggest before you use it the first time, especially, do some forearm stretches. The cramped feeling did go away quickly, but this thing will leave you sore for sure!(which is good). In the beginning it will be hard to maintain 20 seconds! Its crazy how fast it increases your strength, because soon everyday youll be able to do it longer and spin it up faster, youll be amazed at the difference 3 weeks makes!
I recommend this to anyone that plays pretty much any sport, from baseball to ping pong to MMA, anyone that spends a lot of time in the office and typing, any hardcore gamer, and weight lifters but also is good for just anyone wanting to have some fun increasing there arm strength and dexterity. Even would be great for piano players or drummers!!
I will give my advice on how to get it started in the below section as I see that some people give it 1 star because they cant figure out how to get it started. IT REALLY ISNT HARD... My 11 year old niece figured it out in 2 minutes....
For 15 bucks this is an absolute steal!! But I recommend for future getting a 2nd one that is digital that has the rpm counter and keeps record of your historical highest RPM, current RPM and current highest RPM and has a buncha other features that allows you to keep track of what your doing so you have a solid reference of your progress. Then you can have goals to beat as well. If you want to really go all out, then get the metal one.
As far as build quality goes, its nice, nothing spectacular, the grip is nice, its smooth but grips well, the plastic is thick, the bearings are smooth. Just dont drop it as ive heard it can mess up the gyro inside. Just know this thing wont last forever, anything that can spin at 20,000 RPM is not going to last forever. But your d*** well going to get more than your moneys worth for it!
The instructions on how to get it started are pathetic honestly. If I didnt read reviews on people giving advice on how to get it started it might have taken me a bit longer to figure it out.
It does squeak for a split second now n then only at very very low rpm only when getting it started so it doesnt matter.
My only real issue, which really isnt an issue with it, but is that they should all be the digital version that has the RPM counter and other features. Once you start using this you immediately see how beneficial those features are. They shouldve just made them all with that feature. I can understand that maybe they were thinking they dont want to over complicate it, that some people might have a hard time just getting it started and adding this digital piece to it just might add more frustration. But really they should have just made better instructions on how to get it started, told people to practice using it and ignore the digital features, then come back after practicing and learn to use the digital part, which are simple enough.
So this section I'll dedicate on how to get it started and to the people that have one on the way or that have one but trouble getting it started.
So once you get the hang, youll be able to get it started without the string. I'm assuming most can figure out how to use the string. Some tips, I wind it around the track once, then loop the string around my finger to give a better grip. make sure the track is vertical, then rip down hard with the string.
Now how to actually get it going. Think of if you were washing a pot, if you had your hand in the pot and you were going to wash the sides, your forearm not moving but your wrist doing a 360 to scrub the whole inside.. Thats the motion you want to start. you want to match the gyro, depending how fast you got it started with the string, you made need to start out kind of slow then speed up, or you made need to start out faster. Then as you match it it will start to speed up and youll feel it exerting its power. Now as it speeds up, youll make tighter and tighter circles till where itd be equivalent to stirring a cup of coffee(obviously faster tho) and itll make a nice whirring sound as it spins faster and youll definitely FEEL IT. Youll know the sound im talking about, but once you here that whirring/soft buzzing sound, not only will you feel it but at that point its up to you how fast you want to go or how hard you want to work out.
Now at any time you can switch it to your other hand, you dont have to do some super fast hand off. It definitely is harder with your off hand, thats why this thing is perfect to increase your off hand grip, dexterity and forearm strength. Whenever you pass it to your other hand, start off with the bigger circles like you do to get it started, but start out faster, or if its already spinning real good when you hand it off, maybe a little bit tighter spin. Lots of times, youll hear it like clapping, as basically your trying to match the gyro, usually it means ya just need to speed up a little bit or slow down a little bit to match it, most the time its speed up in my experience.
This may all sound finicky but once you get the hang of it, which should only take a couple of minutes to figure out and spend a little time mastering it, and then its just suuuuuuper easy and you can get it started no prob everytime, you can pass it back and forth between your hands and never let it stop and then if you want you can do interesting work out sessions with it.
