RAM is pricey these days
This is an update to a previous review. I originally bought 8 Gb four months ago, and loved them so much I just bought another 8 Gb - 16 Gb running in dual channels. I was doing some editing with Sony Vegas and found that it was maxing out all 8 Gb's. The additional 8 has made a big difference. Now it is using up to 14 Gb in editing and rendering. However, for gaming and basic Windows tasks, 8 Gb was perfectly fine. SO if you're considering this RAM, 8 will be plenty for normal avge use, including gaming, but go at least 16 for vid editing.
Also my mobo ID'd the RAM right away, but at a slower speed and timing. I manually set the timings (easy enough in UEFI BIOS), but I expected that, so it now runs perfectly at rated speed.
Probably the best bang for buck in terms of speed and timings at this level, because of the cl8 timings at 1600. This would probably be comparable to 1866 @ cl10 or 11.
