High tendency for failure 04/04/2014
This review is from: OCZ Vector Series VTR1-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC
Fast data rate and highly responsive under full load. Works great in RAID. Significantly reduces the waiting time on applications and databases.
33% failure rate. Out of nine drives we bought for the company, three are already dead in little over a year. RMA process suspect to nonexistent with multiple tickets submitted.
I do not recommend, at this time, any drive with an OCZ label on it regardless of who owns the company. Had I known that these drives were so prone to dying, I'd have purchased the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSDs to begin with. Speaking of which, as these drives fail we are replacing them with Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSDs. Having RMA'd a Samsung monitor, I can tell you Samsung's RMA process is light years ahead of OCZ.
I am sorry to read about your problems with Vector. Our RMA process is very simple and straightforward: all you need to do is create a support ticket and describe what you are experiencing. We will promptly respond with troubleshooting steps if applicable and evaluate further for RMA replacement. Once a RMA number and instructions are provided all you need to do is return the drive, we verify and ship a replacement back. We even offer advanced shipment in most cases upon request.
It should not require multiple tickets to receive help with your drive. I am happy to check into this for you. If you email me with your ticket number(s) I will quickly check the status and resolve any miscommunication that might be occuring. You may contact me using the email address below.
On behalf of OCZ, I apologize for the problems you have experienced.
