Pros:

Fast (for a mechanical drive).

Cons:

Noise?

Other Thoughts:

Does it compare to a 15K SCSI drive? Obviously not. Does it hold a candle to a SSD? Nope. Is it fast for a 10k lower end (relative to the 15k SCSI drive) drive? You best believe it. If you need a fast drive that wont break the bank but still holds a TB of data (steam downloads anyone?) then this should do the trick. Sure it will never be as fast as an SSD but that much I never expected. I was, however, quite surprised with its performance compared to even the best 7,200 RPM drives when it came to game load times and texture loading. For me, it was worth the money.

One thing to note though, ALWAYS stress test your mechanical drives before using them. If they are bad drives they should show it during the stress test. Don't make the mistake of not testing these (or any hdd for that matter) before loading them with data you are not prepared to loose. I like to test the drives by running a pass with HDAT2, then DBAN (7 passes or so) then HDAT2 again. If after that it comes back with no bad sectors then I would call that a good drive. If it comes back with bad sectors then promptly get it replaced.
