Pros:

The TP-Link TL-WDN4200 Wireless Adapter works as expected for a 802.11N wireless adapter, no major frills, but more importantly, no major issues.

Range was as good as my D-Link 802.11AC USB, able to travel 3 flights of stairs and still maintain signal without packet loss. It is not quite as fast, capping out about 30Mbps, but that may be more of a limit of the USB 2.0 interface (up to 48Mbps).

Windows 8.1 auto-detected the device, but in order to get more advanced features and performance levels you will need to install the TP-Link software.

Streams 1080p video from my CableCard tuner over the wireless network without issue.

Cons:

Adapter is somewhat large but this adapter also has better range than smaller adapters. Not really portable, so you may want to put it on a stationary device, like a media extender, desktop or NAS unit.

Other Thoughts:

No major complaints, I don't expect too many problems with USB adapters nowadays, the real key is to find one that works without hassle and doesn't drop packets while streaming video.
