WD My Cloud 3T 04/19/2014

I begin by stating that I am a programmer and an absolutely shocked that WD would release the 3T MyCloud product with the software it currently uses. The developers should be fired.I attached it to my Dell PC and Macintosh LAN and before using it I updated its firmware. It took FOUR DAYS (4) to copy less than 500 gigs to the appliance. I was mad; but, it copied so gave it another chance by trying to copy a USB drive connected to a MacbookPro. After FIVE (5) DAYS the activity light was sitll blinking and the CPU usage continued to make the Macintosh unusable. I rebooted everything to find I could no longer connect to the device. I tried using a paper-clip to reset the unit and still was able to connect to it. I couldn't even scrub the MyCloud of the data copied to it before returning it. THIS IS A NOT-READY-FOR-PRIME-TIME PRODUCT!!!
Reading another users bad experience, I called WD Technical Support during the afternoon before returning the WD MyCloud 3T. The person I spoke to seemed to be reading from a script and may have just as well been speaking in another language. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! WD . . . I want the TWO (2) WEEKS of my life back!!! And that's what I am going to tell Saint Peter (at the gates of heaven) when I die. I WANT MY TWO WEEKS BACK!!!
We regret to hear your experience with the My Cloud and provided support was not favorable. It appears as though you attempted to perform a reset of the device by pressing the button the back with a paper clip, but it is unclear if you tried to perform a system restore. This would reset the OS and rule out any software concerns with the device that may be caused by a firmware update not completing properly. It is important that the power and Ethernet are disconnected, the reset button pressed in, then the power plugged in while keeping the reset button pressed for no less than 45 seconds.
