This review is from: RAVPower 36W/7.2A 4-Port iSmart USB Wall Charger / USB Desktop Charging Station for iPhone 6 plus, 6; iPad; Galaxy; Kindle; Google Nexus; Nokia Lumia; HTC; LG; External Battery Packs and More (Black)
4 ports, nice clean & simple design.
DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED!
Simply put no matter what port you plug an Android phone into it's going to see it as "USB" because the charger has the data lines unloaded.
Plug in a Vita & get nothing because Vita expects some load for USB mode or short for AC adapter mode.
PS3 controllers, nothing assuming because again there's no load at all on the data lines!
Apple? Dunno, I refuse to drink Cupertino-Aid but I'll bet they fail also because icrap also relies on some kind of data line trickery before drawing more than 500ma (or (anything at all???).
How long are the various charger manufacturers going to get away with ignoring the USB standards and blatantly lie about what their chargers can do? Add this to the pile with the rosewill DC/DC lighter adapter that claims 2.1A but also has an open data pair so nothing works that relies on shorted data pins, the rest blindly limp along at 500ma.
I call on RAVPower to PAY to have my device returned to them & send me a replacement with proper data line options (shorted, partial load?) if they're smart enough to do so! Otherwise it's void warranty time to crack the case & mod the data line leads to shorted
No matter what I want 100% refund for the deceptive advertising!
