This review is from: PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 CrossFireX Support Low Profile Video Card (UEFI Ready) AX5450 1GBK3-SHEV4
Pros:
Half height card for a compact form factor pc with cruddy built on the board intel video chip. Does pretty good so far, video is a lot faster/smoother than it was.
Cons:
Half height bracket included was only for the DVI and HDMI. Had to modify one of the removed slot fillers to accept the VGA portion. Even though a lot of people don't use VGA when they get a higher end card having the option is always a plus. Looses one egg for that IMHO.
Drivers on disc were probably old, downloaded current from AMD.
Overall Review:
Tossed this into a friends computer for movies, surfing the web and some little games. Win 7 desktop was even graphically slow so this is a big improvement. Onboard graphics was rated at about a 7 passmark and 5450 is around 250 passmark so worth it for a cheap upgrade.
For those looking for codecs, don't blame the card. No graphics card actually includes codecs the player does and Windows 8 did not ship with codecs for dvd playback. Go look up K-Lite and get some for free.
