Like a nice apple with some big bad spots 05/04/2014
The graphics card is powerful enough to run anything I've thrown at it, with flying colors, as is the processor. The screen is nice and big, and in spite of a powerful set of chips inside, the laptop is nice and thin and light.
The touchpad is absolutely atrocious and seems cheap. I use my gaming laptops for gaming, in environments where a mouse would be tough to use, and my past laptops have had touchpads suited to this. This one doesn't have any buttons (the pad itself clicks when pressed) and frequently "ghost clicks" or reads a right click as a left click/vice versa. The wireless may be defective as it keeps cutting out to about 200 kb/s with a 200 ms ping, while all other devices on the same network work fine. The headphone jack is so tight, it took me 3 days to realize I wasn't jamming the plug in far enough, and it took even more effort to get it OUT. Runs a bit hot, though the cooler boost helps.
Think twice if you normally use a touchpad for gaming. I may be seeking a refund if the wireless at least doesn't resolve itself within the 30 day limit.
