To be honest, Front Source Tech is a company I would never use again. I bought this Refurbished Dell Optiplex 755 for a customer of mine since she needed to upgrade from an XP machine. First problem was they were 2 weeks out on the delivery when they specified only one week. Secondly, when I finally received the unit and got it fired up I discovered that the DVD burner was defective and did not work at all. Also, it only came with one stick of 1GB ram when the order specifically stated 4GB. Windows 7, even with a duo core processor, is not going to run very well on 1GB ram. I guess FST figured they would take a chance and hope the customer wasn’t computer savvy enough to check all that out.
Because I had received the unit late on a Friday afternoon I could not contact Front Source Tech until Monday due to the time difference of me living on the west coast and them being on the east coast. Lost 2 more days because of that. Called Monday morning and they were agreeable to send me a different DVD drive and the allotted 4 gigs of ram. Had to wait another week for those parts. Meanwhile, I have an unhappy customer waiting 3 wks now for her computer.
Since I had already been burned for the DVD drive and ram I was wise enough to send away for a DVD burner (brand new this time) from Newegg figuring that if the burner they sent was bad I would have a backup drive ready to go. If the burner was good then I would have a spare for my inventory. I also sent away for 2 sticks of used 1GB ram from a company whose name ends in bay. This, of course, was just in case the ram from FST was also defective. That also proved to be a good move because, sure enough, the ram they sent me was defective. Now what do I do?..... call FST and have them send me more (possibly defective) ram? Not even worth my time.
This was a lesson to be learned. I highly recommend that you do not buy anything from this company. You will wait for weeks and end up with a defective product. If you do buy a refurbished unit, make sure it comes from another refurbishing company that Newegg uses called Blair Technology Group. I bought a computer from them (via Newegg) and had no problems.
