This review is from: Linksys AC1900 Dual Band SMART Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (EA6900)
Gets your hopes up with the "Linksys" name & "AC1900" hype. Also comes with a hefty price tag giving the illusion that it could be a good performer.
i also owned the EA6500 & it also failed miserably. but i did not learn from it. that is why i have this piece of EA6900 nightmare. i have it for about 7 months & suddenly my xfinity blast speed dropped drastically. without the EA6900 router, my downstream is about 65.00Mbps. through the wired AC1900 gigabit linksys router, only 15.62Mbps. i will urge everyone who read this to look at other brands to buy.
the AC1750 also started to fail like this. the gigabit downstream connection began to slow down, then 1 day it just totally stopped working. this one looks like it is headed to the same graveyard.
Your feedback is highly appreciated. To establish a good speed from the router, make sure that the router’s firmware is up to date. Does the speed drop on the wireless connection as well? If yes, you can also adjust the wireless channels set on the router. If you have not prioritized any of the connected devices, we suggest that you turn off or reset the Media Prioritization. Here’s how: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=9bf7b6e25b984839aecbff2fcbd8c20e_How_to_reset_the_media_prioritization_of_your_Linksys_EA_ser.xml&pid=80&respid=0&snid=1&dispid=0&cpage=search
