ASRock 990fx Killer Mobo 11/14/2014
This review is from: ASRock ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Fatal1ty 990FX Killer AM3+/AM3 AMD 990FX + AMD SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard
Pros:
Runs a 8 core FX-8320 @ 4.4 without messing with the voltages.
Handled two 560ti in SLI with no problem.
Customer support answers questions quick, I think it was the next day.
Cons:
The heatsinks could use a better design. They get a little hot and so I had to add a few little fans to the NB & vrms sinks.
The SLI/XFire Power Connector faces downward so its not ideal for bottom mounted PSUs in a mid tower, BUT support says its not needed for my GPUs.
Would have been 5 eggs if Lan would have been simpler. had to delete factory drivers & install different (not even the updated) drivers to get it work right for me.
Overall Review:
I had a headache with configuring the Killer Lan with my DSL connection but after some research finally got it straightened out.
I still think it was worth the money saved.
