Gaming keyboard that wont miss a key stroke and Built like a Tank. 05/18/2016
This review is from: Steelseries Apex M500 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches and Blue LED
Pros:
In the few weeks of use I have found this to be enjoyable to use. From Gaming quick response to general use, no missed keys. Either programmed keys for special use or just every day I have no doubt the key stroke was there, the mechanical advantage.
The quality of build and materials has the ‘Built like a Tank’ as advertised feel and look. Every key programming ability, using the Engine 3 Software. Polling Rate adjustments and there are 4 lighting settings with a comfortable blue color.
Playing a lot of gaming I found this to be right there on all keystrokes and for different games the ability to program a few keys for special uses. The per-programming is nice for auto set for different programs, it works great. The standard keyboard setup makes this good for anyone, even more for someone wanting total per key control.
Cons:
None.
Overall Review:
When most keyboards in review are limited in being different than one another, SteelSeries has put together a Mechanical Keyboard that seems limitless. Every key, per program memory and the biggest challenge is your imagination. Packaged with command choices for every single key to fit so many options and yet a great everyday keyboard.
Mechanical key reacts with accuracy; you know when used the key sent the command. Using the Engine 3 Software is easy and is also the Software for SteelSeries Mice and Headsets, putting all 3 in one location. Per program auto changing makes it simple to use this for many different applications and games. I use my PC for many hours a week, gaming, typing and general use. The choice of Blue for the lighting picked a nice shade with adjustable brightness. I like the cable run on the back, I was able to offset to the right and not feel the cable center in front of me.
This is pretty quiet for a mechanical keyboard, some click louder. The feel is standard and that’s good for long hours. This is a recommend to buy. If you just use it out of the box as set or modify every key, it’s nice to know you can if you want to. In gaming this reacted smooth and accurately for every key stroke. I have a Merc Stealth series keyboard from 2007 that still works fine, I expect this one will too.
