good price/ great performance- what more can you ask 07/11/2006
After having installed and used at least 12 units of different brands the last 3 years,I can honestly say that there is no such thing as a perfect cd/dvd
burner. There is always a compromise. Among the latest burners, BenQ 1650 shines given it's overall great performance, outstanding value especially with no shipping cost, and the bundled software ( Qsuite) to tweak and adjust settings for best and predictable result with any media
None so far
Suggest to download Qsuite from BenQ website, understand and learn the options available to maximize the potentials of this burner. A good example is the qscan which determines the burning speed optimal to any media. Use this software and your burning exercise will be much easier and enjoyable.
Suggest also to download the free Nero CD-DVD Speed for scanning of of your burnt movies and you will appreciate how good BenQ1650 is compared to others.
Mine came with a firmware of BCFC which I find well suited to many popular media but definitely loves Taiyo Yudens and Verbatims in both -R and +R.
Final suggestion is to check deals from newegg from time to time as Verbatims can go as low as $0.20 a piece with no shipping cost added.
