MobileSTOR MS28X / MS28XP: 8-Bay Storage Supporting 2.5” SATA / SAS / SSD Drives

City of Industry, CA – July 9, 2011 – Sans Digital, a leading provider of high performance storage subsystems, is introducing its new MobileSTOR MS28X and MS28XP, an 8-bay tower JBOD and RAID storage with support for 2.5" small form factor SATA, SAS or SSD hard drives. Based on the award winning AccuSTOR AS108X and AS108XP 1U 8-bay 2.5” rackmounts, the MS28X and MS28XP come with standard 2.5” hard drive support in compact towers. The MS28X provides with two mini-SAS ports supporting up to 8 drives. MS28XP, also with two mini-SAS ports, comes standard with the RR2722 6G PCIe 2.0 x8 RAID controller card, supporting RAID 0/1/1+0/5 through dual channel mini-SAS host interface with over 800MB/s* read write performance.

SAS hard drives provide enterprise-level performance and features suitable for mission critical applications while SATA hard drives allow high capacity for near-line storage with affordable pricing. SSD drives provide lower power consumption and higher performance using memory module instead of magnetic spinning disks. Using either SAS, SATA or SSD hard drives, the Sans Digital MS28X and MS28XP are ready for your application or storage needs in an attractive tower configuration. The bundled SAS and SATA RR2722 6G PCIe 2.0 x8 RAID HBA on the MS28XP is powered by a dedicated RAID processor; providing exceptional performance with hot-spare functionality to immediately re-build data on the lost hard disk automatically.

In addition to the high performance and rich feature set, the MS28X and MS28XP support a wide range of computer operating systems including Windows, MAC and Linux. Both models are also supported by VMware for use as a centralized storage for ESX/ESXi server or by the virtual machines in VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1. Enterprise-like features such as online RAID level migration, online RAID expansion, RAID roaming and Email notification for critical errors/events are also included via an user-friendly web GUI based management when using with the bundled card or different RAID controller. Both the MS28X and MS28XP (Performance bundle with RR2722 6G PCIE 2.o X8 RAID controller card) provide a blazing fast data transfer speed highly suitable for the video editing, critical server database or data backup applications.

“Supporting both enterprise SAS and high capacity SATA hard drives provides high flexibility to our customers,” said Stanley Chan, Director of Business Develop of Sans Digital. “With the 6Gbps SAS and SATA RAID controller, the MS28X provides a feature-rich high performance storage system ready for your most demanding data storage application.” For more information on the MS28X, please visit:
