Pros: Just wanted to add to my first review of this item. After seeing that they "did" transfer and were recognized as 3.0 USB on my wifes new laptop, I updated the drivers on my new system and, walla, 3.0, the "blue light" lit up on the front of the adapter...$16 bucks, hard to go wrong!
Cons: lite weight cases, really just a "holder" while transferring files but they do that ok.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Good price so far for what you get but wish it came with "2" adapters since you get 2 box's. At first I thought the "cable" was missing since I didn't see it in the packaging, I actually called to return it and they were really great but after opening the second "box"/case there it was. It seemed to connect well, I didn't use the security features they advertised yet, we'll see. One thing, before finding the supplied 3.0 USB cable I had one and tried it which was fine but after finding the 3.0, I hooked it up and the LED went Blue but only for a few seconds if that. I've got at least 3 3.0 ports on my system and I tried all of them and couldn't get it to light back up, hmm. Open view responsivness seems fast, haven't tried transferring yet, wifes laptop to come in tomorrow, we'll see then. For $18 bucks, not bad, probably some other options, maybe a dual 2.5 and 3.5 could have fit the bill but depends on what you want. I've got two cases for the "laptop" drives I took out of our recently failed system, bad board so that's a plus.
Cons: Cases are pretty flimsy but ok for storage.READ FULL REVIEW
