Most Critical Review

Disappointed - two kits, one faulty DIMM in each

Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664AA80A
Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664AA80A

Pros: One of the two DIMMs in the kit worked.

Cons: One of the two DIMMs in the kit did not work. Memtest did not show errors but would continually experience OS errors and crashes with one of the DIMMs installed. Swapped it for the other DIMM in the kit--no errors at all. RMA'd it and the replacement kit I received had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM with one of the DIMMs. (Tried both sticks in the same slot to make sure it wasn't a problem with the slot on the motherboard.)

Overall Review: Been a fan of Crucial RAM for a long time, but now I think I have to try a different brand.

USR Quality is slipping

Pros: It works good when it can connect.

Cons: It has difficulty making a connection--often it has to re-try 2 or 3 times. It frequently drops the connection. Granted, we live in the rurals and the phone line quality is poor, but my previous modem was a cheap off-brand software modem and it connected quicker and had a much more stable connection--it would rarely drop. The USR software modem I had before that one also had connection problems. Seems USR is not what they used to be.
