New Pyle Pdmikc5 Professional Conference/Dj Microphone Mic
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

3 out of 5 eggs A work of art 04/17/2015

This review is from: New Pyle Pdmikc5 Professional Conference/Dj Microphone Mic

Pros: Well designed, perfectly crafted, totally functional, mic boom holds it position without drooping, nice HD long cable. Heavy. Excellent flawless audio output quality. How on earth can they make, sell and ship this microphone for just $35 is a mystery. Requires a 9v battery.

Cons: The first one sent to me was DOA. It cost me another $14 to send it back to NewEgg for a replacement so this mic wound up costing me $49 which did not make me happy at all. Needs an adapter in order to plug into a normal computer input.

Sony Movie Studio 13
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

1 out of 5 eggs Don't waste your money on this crippled version 03/22/2015

This review is from: Sony Movie Studio 13

Pros: The rendering engine in 13 is top of the line. I often make my movies in Platinum 12 and then render them in standard Movie Studio 13. The difference in video quality is quite improved in version 13.

Cons: Sony wants you to buy the Platinum 13 version and this teaser standard edition Movie Studio 13 is only a very feeble sophomore stepping stone to that end, nothing more. If anything this version should be a free sample from Sony. You will be locked into Simple Mode as opposed to Advance Mode which means you can't join groups/clips (with the on-screen lasso) which will drive you crazy when trying to do basic edits scrambling all your video pieces into disarray . This is such a deliberately crippled piece of software that you will swear the day you bought it instead of putting your hard earned 32 bucks toward buying the Platinum version.

This is such convoluted deliberately crippled mess that you would be ten times better off just using Microsoft's Movie Maker. I have bought the Platinum 13 version and I have suffered through stunted Movie Studio 13. I will never buy the standard Movie Studio version again especially when 14 comes out.

Other Thoughts: On the Options | Preferences | Video tab set the GPU acceleration of video processing to use your GPU graphics card. Rendering will improve dramatically especially if you have some high-powered AMD Crossfire Cards in your machine.

Dell U2415 Black 24.1
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: No dead pixels. Great color. Built well. Well packaged to prevent damage in shipment.

Cons: Do not buy these monitors if you want to use them for a DP1.2 daisy chain setup. I bought 4 of these monitors, installed the Dell driver, and bought a high-powered Sapphire video card specifically built to the DP1.2 standard with output through a single DP port in the back of the card. I set all of the 4 Dell monitors to the DP1.2 mode and fired everything up. The random Christmas tree blinking every 60 seconds will drive you nuts. I also tried setting the 4th monitor in the daisy chain to normal mode... that didn't help either. I too am pretty sure it has something to do with this awful power-saving feature which I wish I could disable forever. I hate it when these self-elected energy conservation companies force their half-backed ideas on us consumers without giving us the option of over-riding this problematic feature.

Other Thoughts: If you want to set up a daisy chaining multi-monitor setup then do not buy these monitors. You will be very upset. Many forums online address this random blinking issue but no one has figured out a work-around.
