This review is from: Brother HL-2270DW Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer
Pros: Very simple to use even in manual duplex mode. Print quality is good for the price. The cartridge supplied tells you that it empty early. Simply apply some opaque tape to the optical window and continue.
Cons: finding the duplex feature was baffling at the start, but the software, though simple, is remarkably reliable in WinXP pro, Vista and Win7-64bit. I still have not worked out how to set up the wireless ethernet after 3 yrs.
Other Thoughts: Overall this printer is a good cheap unit that is highly recommended for occasional or student use. It is a bit clunky in operation and the manual duplex feature is initially awkward, but it is quickly learned. I've not had a problem with it in a messy environment in the 3 years that I've owned it. Very reliable for my purposes.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: HP Scanjet G4050 L1957A 4800 dpi 96bit USB 2.0 Interface Flatbed Scanner
Pros: Once you get it to work, it's amazing for the money.
Cons: First software installation killed my HDD. It turned out that the instructions for installation provided online in N. America and on the disk were incomplete. The correct installation instructions were on the Italian site I think. After that I just had to rebuild the drive.
Other Thoughts: This is a very good scanner for the money, but the drivers are definitely an issue that I hope are now sorted. I bought another recommended piece of software after my HDD crashed just to be sure that the scanner worked.READ FULL REVIEW
