HGST Deskstar NAS H3IKNAS40003272SN (0S03664) 4TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Fast, reliable, not overly expensive

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've sold maybe 30 of these over the last couple of years. I have yet to have any failures. Every drive has been rock solid, and I also have 4 of these in a file server for personal use. The speed/responsiveness is as good as you can find in a 7200 rpm drive and they seem to have the best reliability of non-enterprise level drives on the market. I've had bad luck with WD and SG and have completely switched to these for NAS/large storage and never looked back.

ThinkPad Laptop T Series T540p Intel Core i5 4200M (2.50 GHz) 4 GB Memory 500 GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4400 15.6
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Build quality is good aside from touchpad

Cons: Touchpad is nearly unusable

Other Thoughts: Lenovo actually deleted my review on their site, so I thought I'd post here. I've sold a couple of these to customers and the touchpad makes it so much worse than the old t530/430 models. It's a single piece that is floating on a pivot point in the middle, so its noisy, inaccurate, and the tap to click/select hardly ever works.

CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2666 (PC3 21300) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2666C12R
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Stable at the recommended 1333x2 XMP profile, runs cool, looks nice

Cons: Not a con, but the fan isn't really needed. RAM is room temp at recommended voltage and freq.

Other Thoughts: I'm usually skeptical with ram that pushes the top speeds at the time they're released, but this has been extremely stable for me without so much as a hiccup now for about 4-5 months. Corsair typically makes solid products and this is no exception.
