Reliable APU for low-end PC, or HTPC

AMD A4-3400 - A-Series APU (CPU + GPU) Llano Dual-Core 2.7 GHz Socket FM1 65W AMD Radeon HD 6410D Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic - AD3400OJGXBOX
AMD A4-3400 - A-Series APU (CPU + GPU) Llano Dual-Core 2.7 GHz Socket FM1 65W AMD Radeon HD 6410D Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic - AD3400OJGXBOX

Pros: Worked right out of the box, has great speed compared to the last PC my brother had. Is as advertised for sure.

Cons: Only a con if you want higher performance, but this APU isn't nearly as good as the A8-3870k... but simply my opinion, and not worth taking off an egg.

Overall Review: This is good for low-end gaming PC's or HTPC's, I wouldn't lean on it much more than that, unless of course you'd like to pair it with a GFX card, can't go wrong with AMD's Dual Graphics setup.

Not the best, but it'll do...

LOGISYS Computer CS368RB Red & Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 480W Power Supply
LOGISYS Computer CS368RB Red & Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 480W Power Supply

Pros: Cheap. Nice black finish inside and out.

Cons: The case is very thin metal, Easily dents (dropped and 360 controller on the corner and it made a dime sized dent, from less than 2 feet above it... The red plastic is also coming loose at the bottom. I have a feeling I'll be spending a little more next time around.

Overall Review: Good if you're looking for a case on a budget...

I can't believe this!

PNY XLR8 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model MD8192KD3-1600-X9
PNY XLR8 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model MD8192KD3-1600-X9

Pros: ONE stick worked...

Cons: After a fresh install of Windows 7, I began updating everything and all of the sudden BSoD. I figure MAYBE it's driver related, so I give it another go, and ANOTHER BSoD, so after checking the results of the blue screen I can only come up with one solution; RAM. I use Memtest86 and sure enough, failures at 2%. I cannot believe this has happened.

Overall Review: Other than the BSoD I do have one stick that runs great. Hopefully Newegg will RMA.

Affordable price

G.SKILL Value 4GB DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBNT

Pros: Got this in a DIY kit, and it works great, however I did buy new RAM to max out the board, but it had nothing to do with the G.SKILL RAM.

Cons: DOES NOT have any heat spreaders... Not that you can't tell that by looking at the images, but I think they could use them.

Overall Review: Looks cool on a black MB.

Inexpensive, and well known brand

LITE-ON Black 18X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model iHDS118-104 8U

Pros: Does what it is intended to do. I did actually purchase it without reading full details (was looking for a burner at the time), but that's my bad, not worth taking an egg off.

Cons: None so far.

Had to RMA...

Seagate Desktop HDD ST500DM002 500GB N/A 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Great hard drive. And I can only say that because now I actually have one that works... Great speed, and good price for size.

Cons: Received first one DOA, but was quickly issued and RMA and the replacement has worked great.
