Cons: Windows 8 restore OS does not function. I could not reinstall OS to a SSD. I had to purchase Windows 8 to install on SSD.

Overall Review: I planned to install an Intel SSD in the notebook. I used the Asus Backtracker software to create an OS restore on a 16 GB USB flash drive. Problems started when the restore flash drive program ran 15 minutes. The program would lock up after the new partitions were created on the SSD. I tried the restore on a new conventional 500 GB drive, with the same problem. I created a new restore flash drive with Backtracker. Everything failed to create functioning Windows 8 partitions on any drive. I talked to Asus tech support many times. The problem was never solved. The problem seems to be on the OS restore programs on the drive Asus notebook because the restore (F9) does not function either. I solved my problem myself by purchasing and installing Windows 8 OEM on the Intel SSD and using the drivers from the Asus web site. The support at Asus was always friendly and supportive, but offered no solution other then sending the A55A back to Asus.

Pros: Exactly as advertised. Remarkably fast processor.

Cons: Not enough Operating System memory. Not enough Operating System drive space. Ubuntu is one of the best of Linux, but has problems on the Atom.

Overall Review: I uninstalled Chrome, replaced it with Firefox, uninstalled everything but the bare essentials to make it usable.

Pros: Easy to set up.

Cons: When using the Asus EA-N66 in "Access Point Mode" it will often pass its own IP address to a DHCP client (wired or wireless) as the default gateway, blocking access to the LAN router. The only solution is to unplug the EA-N66 and allow the DHCP client to request a new LAN IP.

Overall Review: A firmware upgrade could easily fix this problem making the EA-N66 a great device. Otherwise it is a good wireless access point.

Pros: Quiet pc.

Cons: Video slow.

Overall Review: I installed 4 GB memory, replaced 32 bit windows with 64 bit windows on 60 GB Intel SSD. Now a great pc.

Pros: Works great. Nice textured case.

Cons: My OCZ Diesel 8 will not pass Vista's readyboot speed test. Insufficient write performance 887 KB/sec. A SanDisk Cruzer has 2396 KB/sec.

Pros: The BT-300 is an inexpensive tool to copy files from unbootable disks. It works as described in the Newegg product description. I would recommend it for use as a tool.

Cons: It has not worked for me on Linux EXT3 formatted drives.

Overall Review: Remember to set drive jumpers to master on IDE drives, set jumper to limit SATA drive to limit 1.5 Gb/s, power up the drive before connecting the USB cable to PC.
