Pros: Great build quality
Very nice & responsive keyboard (yes there is some flex, but it's insignificant)
Best laptop processor currently on the market
Really nice 14" display (matte, no glare etc.).
SSD & Generous 1tb HDD
For what you get at the price point it's hard to beat.
Cons: Windows 8
Other Thoughts: I have very specific needs as a video editor and this is the laptop i'be been waiting for. I needed the best processor for my portable editing station (for encoding reasons) but since I'm also a student I wanted something slim and not too heavy. AND I didn't want to have to pay the Apple premium. Basically I wanted to eat my cake and have it, too. Well, Gigabyte delivered with this! I've reverted to Windows 7 and now the only con is the battery life, which is definitely not stellar (3-4 hours). However, with the way things are going outlets are only going to be more numerous. Newly built coffee shops have them every 6 inches, and the same thing goes for classrooms these days. This was an easy purchase for me, and could not be happier with it.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Koutech IO-PSA420 32-bit PCI SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Pros: 4-slots....if they worked
Cons: Bought this card simply for the extra SATA slots. Didn't even mess with RAID and it destabilized my whole system. 80% of the time it would lock everything up during the windows load screen (I'm using 7 64bit) and it would just stay there. The few times the OS decided to load there were "E"s everywhere on the screen...literally the letter E...everywhere. Weird stuff. The few times I made it to the desktop it didn't perform any better. Once i started copying to/from a drive it would take about 60 seconds before a system message would appear saying the drive was no longer available.
Other Thoughts: I stayed up until dawn trying to figure this one out. Installed both new and old drivers, flashed newest RAID bios, everything. The thing works fine if you unplug all connections, but if any drives are plugged in (i.e. you're actually using the card) everything goes down the drain quick.READ FULL REVIEW
