Nice Board
Pros: My 3700x fired right up. The board came with the latest bios installed.
Cons: Not really a con but there is a learning curve involved for overclocking if you have been intel for a while. While I learn this bios I will not be overclocking.
Overall Review: Continuing the above, I had to set the memory speed and timings manually. Was not much of a hassle. Also the cpu voltage was set too high so I gave it an offset of minus 0.1. Aside from the fact that it cooled the cpu down a bit, it is completely stable at 1.35+_ as opposed to the 1.45+ for the high it was set at. Anyway the board is stable at this early stage and I would highly recommend this pairing.
First M2 3.0 x4
Pros: Edit. Original post 8/11/2018. See Cons Pretty fast. Decided to do fresh install instead of cloning the drive. Took all of 3 minutes 15 seconds to get to Cortana. Previous best was about 10 minutes with a regular ssd. Install was off a 2.0 usb. Oh ya center of my system is an i5 8600k@5.0ghz. That may have helped slightly with the install speed.
Cons: This is an edit. Have owned for 3 months. While I still like the speed it gives me, I have noticed that it has degraded 2%. Retiring 10.24gb in 3 months seems kind of fast. I have come no where near to filling it up either. Because of this I have lowered my rating from 5 to 3 stars. No way it should be degrading this fast. I have a couple ssd I now use for storage that are 3 and five years. both of them are above 90%.
Overall Review: Ordered Thursday using free shipping and received Saturday afternoon. Two days, not bad.
Very Happy
Pros: Nothing much to say. It rocks on my 2k ultrawide monitor.
Overall Review: Funny Story...well funny to me anyway. At first I thought the card was load. A fan kept ramping up. Turned out my EVGA T2 1000 was in eco mode(fan wasn't spinning) so every time I needed a boost of power the fan would try to take off to the moon. Well I took eco mode off and everything was quiet again. Rock solid power supply have had it many years. -In conclusion, the card runs quiet, and is oh so powerful. Oh ya it pulls about 270w at load. while playing FO76 max settings. The pic is in a warm room. Temps are within spec.
Runs hot? Maybe not.
Pros: It's a beast! Yes at first it was running warm. Idled at 58c, gamed Doom Eternal at 71c, and Cinebench at 81c. Then I made some adjustments in the bios. I set the vcore to manual with an offset of -.16. Then I set the LLC to Medium. My Motherboard is the ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING. It only b has 5 LLC setting including Auto. Medium is second from lowest. I should mention the first thing I did when fired it up was set the ram timing to 3600mhz. Anyway, it took a few tries lowering the offset till i got down to - .16 \ Cinebench stayed the same at 81c. Which is ok cause the top temp for the cpu is 90c, which I DO NOT recommend. However gaming Doom Eternal went from 71c to 68c. The Idle went from 58c to...
Overall Review: Very Happy with this CPU
Razers Edge
Pros: Keystrokes are quick and precise. Gamed a few hours and found I like the Orange Mechanical Switches better then the cherry MX reds on my old keyboard. Shipped from China and only took 4 days to get here.
Cons: A little pricey, but for the quality i think it is worth it.
Overall Review: I would recommend it.
Excellent
Pros: Really tames the temps on my Ryzen 3700x. New build with temps in the 50s at idle with a somewhat high vcore at around 1.45v . Even after lowering the vcore to 1.35(completely stable) it would still idle around 50c. Now at idle it sits around 35c, while gaming 65c(was 75c+).
Cons: None
