Nice card

ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card
ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card

Pros: Sound quality is about as good as it will get. Highs are crisp and clean, lows are smooth, and the midrange is clean.

Cons: The driver install that comes with the card will not run on Windows 7 64 bit. You have to grab the driver install from the ASUS WEB site, and it is in RAR format, requiring you to grab that utility as well.

Overall Review: It feels like ASUS is about to give up on the sound card business. The lack of attention to the details, of this expensive card, can give some people reason to go another direction. Hence, 4 eggs. Shame, as the hardware is absolutely brilliant.

Capacity Issues

Seagate 500GB Expansion Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0 Model STBX500100 Black
Seagate 500GB Expansion Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0 Model STBX500100 Black

Pros: Nice form factor. Like the removeable USB plug to expose the SATA connector. Decent performance.

Cons: Bought one a while back and it came in as a 250GB model, even though it was/is clearly marked as a 500GB model. Noticed it too late to return it. Bought another one, from a different store, and same problem. 232GB of free space. Clearly marked as a 500GB model.

Overall Review: Did Seagate have a batch come out marked incorrectly?

Not Good

ASUS ROG - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-4710HQ - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M - 16 GB DDR3L - 1TB HDD - Windows 8.1 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G751JT-CH71 )
ASUS ROG - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-4710HQ - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M - 16 GB DDR3L - 1TB HDD - Windows 8.1 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G751JT-CH71 )

Pros: NIce styling. Hardware seemed solid. Great screen.

Cons: Red backlit keyboard is terrible. To be far, I am pastel color blind making red a bad color to use.

Overall Review: It died after about 5 months refusing to boot due to graphic card problems (it appeared). Got an RMA from ASUS. Sent it in, It supposedly arrived at ASUS, according to FedEx, but nothing after that. Not a peep from ASUS. Nothing on the ASUS RMA tracking site either. No response to any email inquiries either. I am out over $1400.00 and getting no response from ASUS. Buyer beware.

Beware

Seagate 500GB Backup Plus Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0 Model STBU500100 Black
Seagate 500GB Backup Plus Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0 Model STBU500100 Black

Pros: Really nice package and design. Works well.

Cons: We bought the 500GB. It is labeled as a 500GB, but it really is a 250GB. We did not notice it until it was too late to return it, and have since discovered others having the same problem. Be sure to check the free space as soon as you get it to make sure you got 500GB,

Overall Review: Even though it is a 250GB it still fills the requirements we had. Just wanted to alert others.

Very nice

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Not only does it look good, it has substance to back that up as well. Everything it does, it does very well. No compromises in the motherboard design, that I can find.

Cons: The little fans it comes with might be the weak link. Not the best fans I have seen. The one fan on top of the motherboard can interfere with some CPU coolers. Just be sure to plug in the SATA cables before you mount the motherboard. A bit of a pain to do in a tight case (Antec 900).

Overall Review: I can easily see this motherboard lasting for a more than a few years.

Nicely done

Noctua NH-D14, Premium CPU Cooler with Dual NF-P14 PWM and NF-P12 PWM Fans (Brown)
Noctua NH-D14, Premium CPU Cooler with Dual NF-P14 PWM and NF-P12 PWM Fans (Brown)

Pros: Quiet, cool, and great mounting system.

Cons: I installed this on an ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard. The small fan on top of the motherboard (you know it if you own it) will not fit under the cooler. The cooler does clear the Ripjaws G.Skill memory.

Overall Review: It is BIG! It barely fit inside of the Antec 900 case. Even then it will not allow the side panel fan to be mounted. The mounting system is the best I have ever used. Solid and easy to install. Well engineered.
