Pros: feature rich, wifi works well/comes with 2 dif antenna, plenty of i/o, Mini-PCIe / m-SATA slot, Quality VRM heatsink,
Cons: came with boot-looping issue/did not start easily(which a bios update would not fix).. usb3 socket was missing(pins were there tho) completely died after 1 month of light usage, MSI phone tech was incompetent, he asked me how many watts my PSU was running. To which i answered "450". He then told me "that was too small, our board like more power" and went on to suggesting a 600watt PSU...(btw i did try my 1000w nzxt psu while troubleshooting, so i allready knew this was bull) If anyone is wondering i did tell him i was only running an i3 3220 and an HD 7750 with 1 ssd. (450 watts was ALREADY overkill!!!)
only other cons would be the placement of the 8pin cpu power and the flimsy feel to the wifi jack....not huge dealbreakers tho imho...
Other Thoughts: I will write another review once the refubished board comes in...If it comes w/no startup issues i will upgrade that review to a 5egg to make an overall average of 4 for my review, conversely if this cannot be resolved i will re-review at a 1egg for an average of 2...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: still beautiful.....
still TONS of connectivity....
DOES DELIVER STABLE POWER
Cons: significantly more expensive than its competitors......
wouldnt push my mushkin redlines past 2400mhz...(both my asrock formula 0C and my brothers max5gene did with a 3570)
Other Thoughts: official apology....what i deemed instability by the power regulators (which i had observed when we tried to o/c with GB's UP5 as well) turned out not to be the case....after burning out in a blaze of glory(literally) i swapped in a SS 860w platinum and proceeded to hit 5100MHz on an ivy bridge i5....a personal high for that particular chip......and passed all stability tests accordingly....
so i can happily report it seems as though gigabyte DID has out its issues with the new v-regs...
however....they're really only a cppl deg. cel. on average cooler than either of the other boards accessible to me
Pros: it looks AWSOME!!!
4x sata6g raid0
options out the wazoo
Cons: from what ive seen so far, gigabyte has not perfected their new power system....yeah it can deliver 1200w-blah,blah,blah..... of very unstable, not that great for ooooberclocking power, and not as cool (low tempwise) as they are claiming.... it was unstable on the up5, and all they did here was add more phases...
Other Thoughts: take my advice....ether spend your money on the tried and true champ (M5E)
or save some big cash and check out ASRock's new Formula OCZ77....$240!!! (twice as nice for 65% of the price)
