Pros: Very bright display, even against my IPS 22" screen which is now being used as a second screen, with the IPS at 90% brightness I have to set this screen to 60% to have similar white levels. While the native brightness may be good for using it to look at pictures or video its really too bright for desktop use so you may need to crank it down unless you light a very bright screen, you could also just put it in Eco mode which sets a similar brightness level. Viewing angles are not bad as well, of course this screens application is desktop usage and normal angles for a chair with this screen in a multi monitor setup should work great. Price at the time of this review is only about one hundred, that is a bargain for this screen. You could spend more but why, this screen looks great and has a host of adjustments and 3 inputs which is also rare in this price range. Can be mounted to a monitor stand.
Cons: Not IPS, but really who's counting, viewing angles are quite good for desktop usage. No adjustment for vertical up down which can be nice for concealing cables and lining up with other screens without using an aftermarket stand.
Other Thoughts: Lots of adjustments, nice quality out of box. Mine has zero dead pixels that I can see while I write this review. All in All I am pleased with the value. Color quality looks as good as my HP 22" IPS that I purchased recently. I'm using this as my primary and the HP as the secondary screen for my study PC.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Picked one up for 249 locally and this processor is a beast. The only con is stock cooling is inadequate if you truly utilize the power of this chip. I might add that most applications have a hard time stressing this chip at all however for CPU intensive apps it will get hot. I am using an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Revision 2 with Arctic Silver thermal paste. With this tower cooler running an Intel Burn in test which the CPU up can reach upwards of 75C, Stock cooler is 20 degrees hotter which will cause throttling. The Intel burn in test will get the CPU hotter then a prime95 burn in so I like to use that to torture test my chips. I'm still giving 5 stars due to the power and performance of the chip. Turbo up to 4GHz gives you enough performance to tackle the most demanding applications and this chip should remain a contender for years. Boot time to Windows 7 with a Samsung Pro SSD is about 4 seconds to usable desktop. Handles streaming of steam games very well to other lower powered systems in the house. Processor is really overkill, I was looking at the i5 4690K however with the price being only 50$ more I wanted 8 threads to handle everything I can throw at it.
Cons: Stock Cooler should be replaced if you use demanding applications.
Other Thoughts: All in All this is a great CPU for a reasonable amount, this particular chip offers a good value for the performance offered when you get it on sale. If you want to upgrade an existing socket 1150 system this is a great way to give you tremendous multi threaded horsepower. If you are power hungry and want a little more horse power you can opt for the K version and overclock as needed however this chip truly is a beast and most will find that it offers tremendous performance.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX) AM3+ AMD 760G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: I benched this board with an FX 6300 briefly before upgrading my HTPC Server. Boot time is slower then my other new motherboard's. Multithreaded tasks run like a dream and this system resolved my CPU bottle neck on a budget. I went with this board for price and the fact that it has 8 SATA ports which I need for all my Media Center Drives and DVR access for TV and Security Cameras. Solid State Capacitors are great for long life of the board.
Cons: BIOS is dated, when installing 3TB+ drives board try's to boot from those rather then OS drive on SATA port 0. USB 3 drivers required registering several JAVA dll's for the installer to complete successfully in my case. Would be nice if core system driver installer didn't need JAVA to install correctly.
Other Thoughts: Great Bang for the Buck which is always one of my main concerns. Paired with an FX 6300 you get a lot of horsepower. Old School BIOS menu included with this board stock.READ FULL REVIEW
