Works
Pros: Transfer rate topped out at about 30MB/s using Win7. It's small and doesn't need an AC adapter. Works fine for my purpose.
Cons: I would say this unit leaves the drive pretty vulnerable. It's literally just a piece of metal and provides no shock protection what so ever. If protection isn't an issue for you (which it isn't for me) then this would work for you.
Poor speeds
Pros: 16GBs of space for not a lot of money.
Cons: I bought this because my old 4GB flash drive wasn't big enough to fit an 8.1 image on it. I need a drive quickly in a pinch, so I picked this one up. Transfer speeds are garbage. It seems to fluctuate quite a bit and it averages around 1 MB/s. I only knocked two eggs off of it because it is still a cheap drive and you get what you pay for. I did try this on multiple PCs of different manufacturers, didn't make a difference at all.
Overall Review: It still works just fine despite the poor speeds I'm getting. So if you just need it to store some files and take them from PC to PC, this should probably fit your needs just fine. If it's a file that needs any heavy disk I/O at all, I'd go with a better thumb drive.
Good Replacement Mobo
Pros: -Includes LED number display on the motherboard for boot information, a feature I haven't seen very often. -Plenty of SATA ports for me -All features as described, this is a better motherboard than the original one I needed to replace.
Cons: Shipping came from China and was very slow. Took a total of two weeks to arrive, which I suppose considering it came from the other side of the world, that's still not bad. But in the era of 2 day shipping being the norm, it felt like an eternity.
Nice enclosure
Pros: Good enclosure and I like having the separate options for eSATA or USB. I bought this after upgrading my old 1TB drive to a 4TB. I then wanted to turn the 1TB drive into an external. Drive to drive transfers were fast. I was able to get about 30MB/s out of USB and 80+MB/s out of eSATA. Enclosure is almost entirely metal, it definitely doesn't feel cheap.
Cons: Assembly wasn't difficult, but probably my only gripe is it's assembled using more screws than what's entirely necessary. Design wise, they could have done a better job of a tooless design that would make it more friendly to swapping drives out. Fan is also noticeable when sitting on top of the desk, but you can always turn it off. Having it sit on my tower underneath my desk in my office, I don't notice it at all. Regardless, no eggs deducted for any of those things. They're just minor little things that may be important to someone else.
Very loud!
Pros: Speeds are quite good for a platter drive. Price per GB value for this drive is very good as well. It does the job and performance wise, I have no complaints.
Cons: VERY LOUD! I haven't had a hard drive that was this loud since the 90s from my old 486 machine. At times it vibrates my case because it's so loud.
Good drive
Pros: Good price, good drive. It spins, it reads, it writes! Not much more that you could ask for.
Cons: None so far.
Good experience for me
There seems to be a lot of poor reviews for this seller, but my experience wasn't a bad one. I ordered a set of 5 plastic cable grommets for a desk I'm building. Item came in about a week (5 working days) and it was exactly has described.
