Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Large capacity, straight forward installation

Cons: Unreliable, drive failed after 2 years, $399 charge for data recovery (even after purchasing their $99 recovery software online)

Other Thoughts: Originally purchased this HDD as a general storage for pictures, videos, and music. However, after a recent software installation, all the file folders disappeared. The recovery software from their online store didn't recover much, and a quote from their In-Lab service returned with $399.

Rosewill BlackHawk-Ultra Full Tower Gaming Computer Case, support up to HPTX MB, Support Dual PSU, come with 8 cooling Fans
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Big, roomy, plenty of space (future-proof) for mods. It comes with a lovely sorted cable package-bag.

Cons: Plastic seal around the PSU spot gets in the way of the screw holes. Not too big of a deal

Other Thoughts: Make it bigger? Haha

Thermaltake Frio Overclocking-Ready Intel Core i7 (6-core ready) & i5 Compatible Five 8mm Heatpipes Dual 120mm Fans Intel & AMD Universal CPU Cooler CLP0564 - Retail
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: BIG cooling unit, detachable side fans with individual fan controllers

Cons: Not compatible with LGA2011 right out of the box. You'll need to go on Thermaltake's website and file a 'claim' with them in order to get the LGA2011 backplate upgrade.

Other Thoughts: Submitted the applicaiton online (with invoice attached) ~3 days ago and haven't heard anything (email or phone) back. I sent out another email yesterday inquiring about the status. Trying to get the PC built as a Christmas present... effort is currently on hold due to the backplate.
