SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100314-3L )
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Quick, Fancy, Newer Shader Models Supported, HD, budget-friendly card for performance improvement

Cons: VRAM is kinda small (1GB) & only 256-bit

Other Thoughts: 5 eggs because SIGNIFICANT performance improvement upgrading from a Radeon X1950 PRO to this.

QNAP TS-212-US Diskless System All-in-one NAS Server with iSCSI for SOHO and Home Users
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Cool looking; bright white; blue LED lights the room; was able to get it working somewhat...; backs up your information; really nice UI for managing the NAS

Cons: From my earlier review, there was a lot to the setup that was causing problems, but eventually it turned out to be HDD failure causing a lot of issues. The only con I have now is that I can't seem to run more than 2-3 services otherwise the SAMBA connection drops out.

Other Thoughts: Good purchase. So far, it's been keeping my videos & pictures backed up, along with some school work, and hasn't failed yet. I like it, now that I found out the hard drives I installed were to blame.

Hitachi GST Deskstar H3IK20003272SP (0S02861) 2TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Cheap for 2TB

Cons: Failed after a week. The first one was DOA, and this second one was originally working OK, though it had problems formatting for a while. Now the drive is reporting bad physical blocks, and can't even complete a read test. Also, S.M.A.R.T. is poorer than initially. I've already requested a replacement of the other purchase of this hard drive, but I'm wondering if I should just 'refund' and look into a different drive (or make)
