Excellent mobo!
Pros: Everything worked right out of the box with Win7 x64. Great motherboard with lots of features. Only difference between Premium and this one is that it only has one LAN port and no reset button on mobo. Well worth the price difference as those aren't really needed for me. Provided CD has all needed drivers and tweaking tools. BIOS is very straight forward to configure. I've been using Asus boards now for the past 7 years and they've been very good! Same for Newegg!
Cons: None
Overall Review: Realtek audio chipset on these boards is great! USB 3.0 and SATA III 6GB/s are great features too. Hooked up my WD 1TB 6GB/s drive to the Marvell port using AHCI (no problems). Main SSD hooked up to Intel chipset using AHCI. Great performance! Haven't tried USB 3.0 yet (but have it if/when needed). The legacy IDE and Floppy ports are finally gone off this mobo.
Dead DIMM slot
Pros: - Nice features and plenty of slots
Cons: - DIMM slot on board will not read memory (4GB out of 6GB). RMA'd and new board has same issue! Memory has been tested working, only other option is to try new CPU or RMA board yet again. Why Asus?
This review for ASRock review rebate program
Pros: - Great price and features - Excellent support - Nice layout - Fast and Stable
Cons: No issues so far. Stable on Intel i9-14900K with 64GB GSkill DDR5 and Windows 11 Pro
Overall Review: This ASRock Z790 Nova is an awesome motherboard. I have always purchased ASUS motherboards for my computers, but have had great luck with AsRock recently and decided to get the Nova for my new build. I am glad I did. An good purchase considering ASUS prices and has all the features of modern high-end boards!
Beautiful case with minor issues
Pros: This case has a great look, lots of space, and plenty of airflow! I highly recommend getting a couple of 120mm silent super airflow fans by Cooler Master and installing one at the top and replacing the 120mm on the front.
Cons: - The 5.25" drive bays do not have easy to install rails - they still require screws - (additionally only the top bay has a built-in lock feature.) ALL bays should have this! - The 2.5" bay cage should be below the 3.5" bays. The current location at the bottom of the case may require the entire cage to be removed depending on the power supply being used. - The biggest CON is the front USB ports. One is 3.0 and the other 2.0 (they really should both be 3.0) This is a waste of the USB 3.0 header that can handle 2 ports!!! The connector takes up the entire header and will ONLY run one USB 3.0 - leaving you without the ability to connect/utilize the other 3.0 port. Same for the USB 2.0 header - it only has wires along one side leaving a potential on-board USB 2.0 port unusable! This is a very bad and poor design! - Would be nice if the front audio jacks were colored (red/green) to indicated the mic and headset.
Ok, but very hard to open and close
Pros: Simple, small, screwless, USB 3.0, no external power required.
Cons: Being that the case is screwless, it just snaps together. There is no room at all to slide the drive to connect to the SATA header. You have to remove the "insert" install the drive and snap everything together. It's extremely difficult to remove if you every have to swap drives!! So trying to remove the drive requires prying at it which already slightly bent the cover and using a flat screwdriver may scratch the sides! Horrible design on how it goes together. Much prefer the Rosewill style that slides to open and close! Bought this one since it was USB 3.0. Knocking 2 eggs for design. Otherwise, works well.
Excellent monitor!
Pros: Great monitor. Beautiful picture, color, clarity and resolution. Never a dead pixel so far. Can't go wrong with this monitor. Have purchased 5 of these for my customers and they all have rave reviews and nothing but good things to say.
Cons: Speakers and volume are a bit weak. But they do ok for what they're needed for (normal Windows sounds, etc.).
Overall Review: Have seen this a bit cheaper over at a competitor recently with free shipping.
