Great value computer
Pros: This refurbished computer arrived in great condition. It was very well packaged. Computer is clean and shows little to no wear. Included an HP keyboard and mouse (the same mediocre quality ones you would find in a retail package). It will make a great web surfer and email machine. It will do fine on light or everyday duty tasks.
Cons: This is certainly no powerhouse, but I knew that when I purchased it. The 2 GB of ram it shipped with is barely enough to make it run, but I knew that when I purchased it. Plan on investing a significant amount of time for the Windows 7 Pro updates. I wish these updates had already been installed by refurbisher. Comes with HP crapware installed, just like a retail box would. Don't even think of gaming on this machine as it was never intended for that purpose.
Overall Review: Plan on adding additional DRAM to this machine before trying to do any real work with it. I will upgrade the RAM to 4 GB or 8 GB and probably install an ssd drive to be used primarily as the boot drive. With the current price of DRAM as high as it is I can understand why only 2 GB was included for the price I paid. This computer is a huge value for those of you that have some spare DDR 3 ram sitting around unused that you can install in this computer. There are four DRAM slots available.
Turbo Tax 2014 Fail
Pros: None
Cons: Big changes in Turbo Tax 2014. TT pushing you to buy Premier so you can get the features that were always in the Deluxe version.
Overall Review: Went back to H&R Block's Taxcut. Bye TT, you thieving *ricks.
Very well made and high quality product
Pros: Built like a tank and the keys are great for gaming.
Cons: -Pink color is not what i would normally choose. -Limited keys as you would imagine with this format of keyboard. Have to use Fn key along with numbered key since it has dedicated Function keys -HyperX NGENUITY software sucks
Overall Review: Very solid and well made keyboard with great keys. Limited by lack of dedicated keys and software.
Installed in MSI Z370 PC Pro. Enabled XMP to get to 2400. Off and running!
Pros: They're not red. I've been using G.Skill ram in almost all of my builds for years now. I've never received a bad stick or had a stick go bad on me. I attribute this success to more than luck.
Cons: One of the heat spreaders is a little loose.
Overall Review: Do any of you people complaining about 2133 default speed ever read the responses from G.Skill in the negative reviews for this and similar products here on NewEgg? I can understand that many people have limited knowledge of XMP profiles for ram etc..., but please invest a few minutes of your time to understand how to use the products you purchase.
Love the monitor -- surprised it survived shipping the way it was packaged
Pros: This refurbished model looks like new and is currently working perfectly. No dead or frozen pixels, light bleed, or other obvious faults. I'm using the DVI input at default resolution and the screen is crystal clear.
Cons: I was really concerned when the monitor package arrived at my home as I could hear the contents sliding around in the box. Some how it survived unscathed and is working perfectly. As has been stated by others, the monitor controls are kind of hidden under lower bezel and are not easy to use. Oh well, once the monitor is adjusted to your liking there isn't much need to further mess with the settings. I really haven't made any adjustments since I received the monitor.
Overall Review: For the price I paid this monitor it is an excellent value. I like it enough that I may buy another one. I have no problem in recommending this monitor to anyone looking for a GREAT VALUE in a 23" monitor (providing it doesn't fail prematurely).
Debating whether to return for replacement, or just live with the defect.
Pros: Looks new and was well packed for shipment. Has most of the features that are important to me, and I knew the monitors limitations before buying.
Cons: Right out of the box I knew there was a problem. I should say, as soon as I attached the stand. The U-shaped mounting arm coming out of the back of the monitor is not aligned properly. This makes the monitor sit crooked in the stand. It's very noticeable, and no apparent fix to this problem without removing the whole back of the monitor to see if an adjustment can be made to the stand arm.
Overall Review: I like the monitor, but I'm not sure I can live with this very apparent monitor/stand misalignment. This is not a problem resulting from shipping-- it could only come from the manufacturer in this condition.
