Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW300G3K5 2.5
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: I like the extra stuff that comes with this drive. I needed the internal drive adapter to put in my DIY server.

Works perfectly with XenServer 5.6 SP2. VMs load extremely fast.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just ordered an Intel 40GB drive to use as the boot drive for my XenServer host. XenServer only needs a 16GB boot drive.

I also have two single purpose XenServer hosts for writing my tech articles and books. Both have the Intel 40GB SSD.

ASUS KGPE-D16 SSI EEB Server Motherboard Dual Socket G34 AMD SR5690 DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Unlike Tyan G34 boards, this D16 does NOT slow memory down to 800 when all memory slots are used.

Can upgrade BIOS from thumb drive.

Runs XenServer 5.6 with no issues.

Cons: CPU0 cooling fan required a little more effort than I was comfortable with in order to start turning the screws. CPU1 did not have this problem.

Other Thoughts: My build:
