This review is from: TRITTON AX180 Universal Gaming Headset, by Mad Catz
Pros: This headset has overall good sound quality for a gaming headset. The ability to use this device on my Xbox 360, PC and my friend's PS3 is definitely a pro. The earphones are comfortable and snug on your ears, and definitely help in immersing yourself in your game/music. The device is super easy to set up and to use, and the integrated controllers are very intuitive.
Cons: When compared to a $40 Logitech USB headset, people on the other end of ventrilo/skype/mumble all claimed that my voice was clearer and better quality on the Logitech headset. The headset also had an irritating feedback noise that changed pitch and volume depending on what input/output settings I was using. The headset's durability is a large con; I purchased this headset from a store and paid extra to get their two-year full-coverage warranty added. Within three months the headset's plastic frame that connects the earphones to the headband began to break crack and eventually broke, leaving the ear phone hanging by a wire. I returned to the store and exchanged it for an undamaged one, as per my warranty, and here I sit, less than four months from that exchange, and my current AX180 is now breaking in the exact same way. The cable between the headphones and the little volume control is also starting to wear out. In no way am I misusing or improperly handling or storing this device.
Other Thoughts: Good as far as sound quality and ease of use, but far too flimsy and fragile to be worth your money, unless you like taking borderline neurotic steps to maintain your peripherals. I would recommend against buying this device, especially if you plan on using it just for PC, or if you, like most consumers, don't go out of your way to lay it on a velvet shrine so its flimsy construction doesn't break. Not worth the money.READ FULL REVIEW
