This review is from: Canon PowerShot G16 8406B001 Approx. 12.1 Megapixels 5X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
Pros: Purchased this camera to take pictures at my son's high school graduation. You know, far away from stage, high zoom, folks moving, etc... With every other small digital camera I have owned this would have resulted in blurry poor quality pictures. This camera did an awesome job. The pictures turned out great. And the capability of taking very fast continuous shots enabled me to snap 20+ pictures while he walked across stage. No worrying if I was going to catch him with his eyes closed or with some awkward look on his face. Very impressed with the camera.
Cons: The printed manual is not very good. It goes through the wireless setup but not really into the camera features. Took some time to figure out the settings.
Other Thoughts: I have wanted to buy a digital SLR but my wife (who takes most of the pictures in the house) does not want a large camera or one with many controls. So we have always struggled with getting good pictures at school events indoors. This camera has solved that problem. She can set it on automatic and take great pictures with indoor lighting. Have also taken some photos under street lights with no flash and was astounded at how well they came out.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Brother HL-2240D Compact, Personal Laser Printer with Duplex
Pros: Works well and love being able to do duplex without manually flipping pages.
Cons: It is noisier than the HL-2040 it is replacing but hey I am not trying to sleep when it prints so who really cares?
Other Thoughts: Managed to catch this on sale to replace an HL-2040 that has been indicating a drum error for about 6 months. The HL-2040 still works fine but I figure it is due since it is several years old and has run many thousands of sheets of paper. If this one lasts half as long I will be happy.
Seems to be very similar to the HL-2040 with just a few exceptions. The most notable is that the way paper stacks on the top is better. The HL-2040 was rounded on top and if the paper "catcher" was not flipped up it would sometimes push paper off the printer. This one is more flat and I don't think that will happen. Also, the paper "catcher" on this one does not stick out like the HL-2040.
Pros: First this is not intended to be a "bad" reveiw and in no way should reflect on NewEgg as they are always great. The memory works as it should and the specs match what is listed on the website. Gave me a scare when first installed (post error beeping) but after reseating twice it began working.
Cons: Specs for this memory has is slower than it once was.
Other Thoughts: This review is really a bit of a complaint to Corsair. I purchased (2) x 1GB of this memory three years ago for my son's computer partly because it was about the fastest thing going at the time that was compatible with the computer it was going in. When I decided to add more memory to his computer I ordered the same model memory. My fault for not verifyting the specs but the model number and everything was the same "CORSAIR XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400". When I went to install it I was suprised to find the newer memory was slower than the older memory???
The 3yr old Corsair XMS2 memory has 4-4-4-12 timing.
The new Corsair XMS2 memory has 5-5-5-18 timing.
My fault for not verifying the specs were the same before ordering but and I am very disapointed that Corsair is selling the same model memory with much worse specs.
Also disapointed since I could have gotten CAS 4 memory from another well know manufacturer for about the same price.
