This review is from: Silicon Power Touch 835 32GB Waterproof USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model SP032GBUF2835V1T
Pros: I love the size of this drive and it's inexpensive.
Cons: From day one, this drive has been finicky, unreliable and extremely slow. I do IT work and so this drive goes into a lot of machines, this is not an incident isolated to my system. About 25% of the time I plug this into the front port of a computer it will lock up the system until I unplug it. Windows Explorer just can't seem to deal with it. When this happens I plug it into one of the rear ports and it typically works. The difference between the front ports and the rear is simply a wire running from the motherboard to the front of the PC, in the rear they are soldered onto the board. I have no idea why that would have any effect but it does. When it works, speed starts out fast and over several minutes it slows to a crawl. I simply cannot use this as a reliable storage source for the tools I use in the field.
Other Thoughts: I read the reviews and tossed the dice... it was too cheap to not try. I will keep it around for an emergency. If my new drive fails I can use this for the few days I will need to get another.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: MSI G31TM-P21 LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: I really wanted to like this board. It was inexpensive and it works well (when it works).
Cons: I have purchased 5 of these boards. One was DOA, another died after 9 months and I am currently replacing one that is either a few days over a year or a month under. I have always used another leading brand but after a bad rash of boards I decided to try MSI, which I am now questioning. I do admit, though, their RMA process is fast and no runaround. I like the service MUCH better than the other manufacturer.
Other Thoughts: I purchased the first 2 of these boards to replace 2 dead MOBOs that died weeks apart at a client site. A third died a few months later at the same site. These were MSI boards but a different model and I was hopeful that I could swap them without the existing XP installation having a fit. It worked it makes me question MSI's quality... I have had 5 MSI boards die on me in 13 months. Still, the boards are replaced quickly and without question, except my year is now up for the next failure.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BIOSTAR P4M80-M4 478 VIA P4M800 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: The fan spins.
Cons: Nothing else works! This board was purchased to replace a clients failed motherboard. As a general rule I avoid Biostar but this was the only board that had the proper configuration for the processor/memory from the failed computer. The board would not even POST, not a single beep. My suggestion; stay away from Biostar, much less this board. Bad products and, from past experience, horrible support.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg, as always, was awsome. Great service, great prices, fast shipping, excellent supportREAD FULL REVIEW
