Pros: It was pretty quick and handled every game I threw at it.
Cons: The fan died about 6 months after I bought it. Now it's useless.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: You can crossfire this card with another 6870 or another 6870x2 and have very high frame rates with little to no microstuttering as long as the game or application supports crossfire. The card runs relatively cool for the amount of power it draws and the amount of space it has. Under full load with the fan turned up to 80%, GPU1 is at 58 C and GPU2 is at 71 C. Not bad.
Cons: Depending on the game, sometimes it won't work as intended (aka no crossfire support for some games). When there is no crossfire support, it will only use the GPU power of one card, but that's not Powercolor's fault.
It's loud at full speed and somewhat loud at idle. What can you expect though? It's two 6870s on one board. I also received a broken card the first time I ordered it and received a working one when I RMA'd it. See my previous review to see what happened with the first one. It also does not overclock too high on stock voltage. I overclocked each GPU by 15 MHz and had some minor artifacting when running them at full load.
Other Thoughts: Great for bit coin mining!
Also: If you're having trouble running Skyrim with the newest drivers, it's because you have to select the bioshock profile in the Catalyst drivers. It will then work in crossfire mode.
Pros: Able to be add another 6870 for tri-crossfire.
Cons: The one that was shipped to me did not work. When I first attached this card, I kept getting random crashes in Windows 7 and BSODs. I tried to find out what the problem was, I thought it was drivers perhaps. However, the computer would exhibit the same symptoms in BIOS as well. I would be in BIOS and the screen would randomly turn black and the computer would become unresponsive. I've tried both PCI-E slots in the computer and it still crashes. I have tried other graphics cards and they work fine, it is only this card that has problems. I have also put this 6870x2 in other computers, and the same behavior happens (random crashes and black screens).
My power supply is adequate, it is a 1000 watt Coolermaster. I know that the power supply is plenty as I have powered two 6870s in crossfire before.
Other Thoughts: I am very disappointed in PowerColor. I have had good experiences with their cards in the past. I have submitted for a RMA with newegg, hopefully the replacement card will be a functioning sample.READ FULL REVIEW
