Excellent scanner. VERY FAST
Pros: Very very fast in color, even faster in B/W; duplex
Cons: PC only; must buy Mac version to use on Mac.
Overall Review: This is my first dedicated sheetfed scanner. Used flatbeds, but they are slow! This on can burn through all the document I need to scan quickly and efficiently. Include full version of Acrobat Standard.
Mine is failing
Pros: Fast, High Capacity
Cons: Unsure reliability
Overall Review: I bought this drive 6 months ago for my laptop. Installation on my system was a breeze. However two weeks, ago, I started to get weird error messages such as $Secure folder has been corrupted or the computer would schedule the CHKDSK by itself for boot-time. Well, so I let it do a CHKDSK and the computer told me I have 6 THOUSAND unreadable sectors! Luckly I was able to boot and I was a able to back-up my files. I decided maybe I would reinstall Windows into the good sectors. So now there are no more error messages and CHKDSK does not detect any bad sectors (previous detection blacklisted the bad ones?). However, when I attempt to run PGP Whole Disk Encryption, I get read/write errors when I read the 1.3GB mark on the drive. I'm going to see if I can get a warrantly replacment. It may just be my bad luck, but I would not comment on whether you should buy this drive or not. This drive may be fast, but I'm not sure about its reliability. 3/5
Excellent high performance SSD
Pros: Fast, better power savings, improved performance for low power computers, reliable, no moving parts (great for tablet computers), quiet (not silent).
Cons: Pricey, but such is expected from new technology; Lackluster capacity; Electrical squealing (when drive is reading/writing, you can heal the electrics squeal).
Overall Review: Tested on my Lenovo X60 Tablet with L7400 1.5GHz, 4GB RAM, 8-cell battery; increased my battery life from 4:15 to 5:00; a 45 minute increase which in turn means less wear on the battery and less charging, not to mention the obvious increase in productivity. Ran test with processor set to maximum savings, brightness at 1/7, and both wireless and Bluetooth on. Ran a gaming server and downloaded a few files (total 50GB) on wireless to ensure both processor was being used, drives accessed and wireless used. Tested restart @ 1:10 (mm:ss) from 3:30 (120GB 5400RPM HDD), shutdown @ 0:05 from 0:20, and straight boot @ 1:10 from 4:00. Yes my times are slower than most computers because my processor is a low voltage version, so everything is slower. Expect just such increases percentage-wise, rather than in time. Since this has no moving parts, I can turn off read-head parking, which is very convenient on a tablet computer as it's hard for the computer to tell what I'm doing (me moving or a drop
Excellent
Pros: It works like it should
Cons: It's still not cheap, a bit loud
Overall Review: First drive came with no cables or software. It also had a broken connector. Called NewEgg and got a RMA and they replaced it immediately. The replacement was still OEM, but it included the cable and the software, so it was weird. Happy with this. Fits in my low profile case and works like it should.
Good for basic audio needs
Pros: Allows expanding a laptop sound to 5.1 surround analog. Also support digital out.
Cons: USB 1.1, Stutters with high bandwidth audio.
Overall Review: If you need surround sound and you only listen to music, you can get this. If you play games or watch high definition videos, do not get this as the bandwidth limitations in USB 1.1 will cause audio buffer choke and everything goes bad (I mean everything as in you video stutters too as a result). Not recoomended for anything except basic audio. For everything else. Personally I'm getting an Audigy 2 NX.
Great capacity, abient a bit loud
Pros: Big capacity, fast, drive feels light (weight)
Cons: Not quite (is audible at a distance)
Overall Review: So I set this drive up as an external drive in a Rosewill external enclosure. Read and write over USB is great and over eSATA is phenominal. I guess since I have an external drive, I can hear a lot of clicks and spinning sounds, especially when my Diskeeper is running its auto defrag to keep the drive at tip-top performance. Otherwise, I've no reliability problems and the drive is solid. I would highly recommend this!
