Pros: Got it for $79. Seems to be faster than my Samsung 840 120 GB.
Cons: None so far. We'll see how long it lasts.
Other Thoughts: Remind me next time to pay the $2.99 or whatever it was for shipping. This SSD took almost a week from CA to AZ using the free shipping..Guess I shouldn't complain about free though. New egg shipping is usually 2 days to me.
Clonezilla failed to clone my Samsung SSD to the Kingston so I made a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 and that was probably a good move. Also had to do a fresh install of Windows 8 onto my Samsung 840 (I wanted to be able to use the Samsung Magician software on Windows) . Good move also. Just a little more work, but both side of my dual-boot are running great.
This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD120BW
Pros: Update. My Samsung 840 did not die. It was the motherboard. Got it running on a new Asus board running Windows 8.1/Ubuntu 12.04.
Other Thoughts: Need another for RAID before they disappear.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Got my replacement sticks today. Seems to work fine. I need 2 more sticks.
Cons: I had to manually set to 1866 in BIOS.
Other Thoughts: I like the heat spreaders on these. Need another 8 gigs.
