Pros: - N570 CPU the fastest in a 10" platform
- ION 2 GPU runs 720p flash video [youtube] flawlessly and 1080p well
- The color is acutally quite attractive, despite pictures not being available
- Runs aero glass on Win 7 pro
Cons: - WSVGA is too small (Acer has a 1280 x 720 screen in a 10" model)
- 1 GB of ram cripples this system. With Windows 7 usage is constantly between 500 and 850 mb
- Win 7 starter is a joke
- only accepts 1 2GB DIMM
- DIMM must have no more than 8 memory chips total (4 per side) for computer to boot - 16 is common
- Touchpad is far too sensitive for someone with adult sized hands...I recommend turning off double tap to click
Other Thoughts: This CPU/CPU combo has what is takes to run pretty much anything you can throw at it (within reason), which is more than can be said for single core atom solutions sans discrete card. I would have preferred an AMD solution, but the CPU side of the C-50 is just a little too weak for Windows 7 (IMO and with the way I use netbooks). The C-60 should make things a lot more competitive.
Windows Experience Index
Processor (N 570) - 3.4

Graphics (ION 2, 8 Cuda cores) - 3.4
Gaming Graphics - 4.8
HDD - 5.6
Pros: Six solid cores for long-term performance. Turbocore is an acceptable approximation of TurboBoost.
Black edition hexcore for $200.
Cons: Not much overclocking headroom. Power consumption is high compared to latest Intel offerings. Based on aging architecture.
Other Thoughts: Was able to get a stable overclock at 3.8 GHz on stock cooler. Failed prime 95 on one core at 4.0, even with stock voltage stepped up by .075 volts. 3.8 was loud with stock fan so I set it to 3.6 and turned turbocore on and set the target to 4. Seems to be running well. Temps don't go above 47 C in prime 95 at 3.6 and are similar at 3.8. Saw 53 at 4 GHz.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Charges via USB even when the computer is off.
USB 3.0, SATA III, dual x16 ports and 3 PCIe x1 ports.
Cons: BIOS doesn't allow half-steps for multiplier overclocking. You get x17, x18, x19, etc...but no x17.5, x18.5. You can do half-steps for Turbo-core, however.
Other Thoughts: This board is expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of feature set and quality.READ FULL REVIEW
